“Who am I?”
“Who am I?”
That’s a question someone is asking every day.
The answer is, energy. You are energy.
You are the energy you surround yourself with everyday, the food you eat, the news you read, the tv you watch, the job you have, the smile on a stranger’s face when you tell them to have a good day.
If you want to change, change the energy around you. Clean out a closet, sweep under your bed, hang out with different people. Don’t spend too much time on social – or at least don’t worry about the views and likes. Just post whatever you want.
You are energy.
“Who am I?” – it doesn’t matter. Do what you love. Be what you love.
Trust the process
Trust. My favorite, so far, of the owls I have painted.
Not just because it’s breathtakingly-beautiful, but because of it’s story.
I started painting it in January 2021. I was originally going to name it ‘Believe’ because I believed I could finish it even though I didn’t like the way it was going. I worked on it a little bit at a time until May when me and my family moved nearly 1000 miles from Kentucky to Miami Beach. Shortly after the move I spilled an entire glass of water on the painting. It washed off and smeared a lot of the paint, mostly from the owls face and wings – the parts I had worked hardest on.
Devastated I nearly put the painting in the trash. But I had worked on it for almost 5 months. It had been so close to being finished – so close to being alive. I decided to try saving it. I had it finished in less than a month and it turned out 100x better then I could have ever imagined. I decided to change the name to ‘Trust’ because I had to trust myself and the process.
This wasn’t the first time a disaster turned out beautiful and I’m sure it won’t be the last. So, whatever your project is, remember to trust the process.
